Two In One

This is a two-in-one lugged frame bicycle, built up, at the moment, as a two speed automatic with a coaster brake. 650bx38 wheels built onto Sram’s two speed, self shifting coaster brake hub on the rear, and a vintage Shimano hub up front. Paragon Machine Works Rocker dropouts allow for tensioning the chain as well as provide an integrated bolt-down location for the coast brake arm. Tidy!

Option two for the frame is a 1x drive train with disc brakes. The downtube has internal routing for brake and derailleur cables headed to the rear wheel, with cable guides in place along the chainstays. A set of 650b disc wheels can be swapped in to turn this into a hill climbing, long distance machine.

For now it’s a 2 speed city cruiser with a platform mounted Wald basket for school books and picnic supplies. Including full coverage fenders, a double leg kickstand, a light mount under the basket, and a bell mount on the stem..
