Dual Purpose

A fillet brazed frame designed to do double duty as both a fully rigid bike-packer and a hardtail trail mtb.

Built up here, in the images below, as its wilderness getaway self with a partially suspension corrected segmented fork. The slightly shorter axle to crown length of this rigid fork ( as compared to the 120mm travel suspension fork the frame was designed around ) steepens the head tube angle, lessens the trail and drops the bottom bracket a bit to make it more suitable to meandering from camp to camp with a couple days of gear. Swap the rigid fork ( with its basket and rack ) for the suspension fork, change out the gravel tires for some knobbies and it’s ready for the trail.

Three pack gear mounts on the fork legs for cargo cages; three bottle mount locations on the main triangle with two of those being 3 pack inserts for gear or extra large water bottles; 1x12 gearing; front rack and wald basket for camp stuff; clearance for 27.5 x 2.3 tires; a 150mm dropper post and a handcut seahorse headbadge.
